Description

I really enjoy taking pictures like this.
This one looks a little like a painting, it was pretty dark when it came out of the camera. So there was more then just raw editing done, colour saturation, exposure and brightness done in photoshop.

The interplay between hard lines, diffused light and colour is what drew me to this piece out of this posted series. I was reminded of Lyonel Feininger's Calm at Sea III, and Piet Mondrian's Tableau No. IV and Braodway Boogie Woogie because of the strong intersecting lines and the interplay of primary colours. I am delighted to see this style represented in a photograph, rather than a painting.

I think the metal patina on the curve is unusual and wonderful. It adds a new element to a familiar form, and reminds us that this is reality, not abstraction.

Wonderful interpretation.
